Those planning to return to Italy, whose children have completed one or more school years in a British curriculum school within our consular district but have not yet obtained final qualifications (e.g., GCSE, AS Level, A Level), may request a consular certificate issued by our Consulate.
To do so, the following must be submitted:
- This form, completed and signed by the parent or the student (if the student is at least fifteen years old and holds a valid identity document).
- An original letter on headed paper issued by the British curriculum school, drafted in accordance with this template letter. Please note that this letter must be requested at the end of the school year and not earlier, as it must confirm that the student has indeed completed the academic year.
- An Italian translation of the letter (see the example translation on page 2 of the “Template letter” file).
- A photocopy of the student’s and parent’s (if applicable) identity document.
- For UK deliveries: An A4-sized pre-addressed and pre-paid Special Delivery envelope to the address where you would like to receive the Declaration of Value, the authenticated translation, and the original documents. If you wish to receive the Declaration of Value in Italy or another foreign address, do not include any envelope. Instructions on how to arrange a courier collection at the Consulate at your own expense will be provided via email during the processing of your request.
All correspondence for the Notarial Office should be sent to the following address:
Consulate of Italy in Manchester
58 Spring Gardens
M2 1EW
Manchester
Please note that with regard to academic qualifications, the applicable educational system is that of the school’s curriculum, not its location. For International Baccalaureate (IB) schools, even if they are located in the UK, the competent authority is the Consulate General of Italy in Geneva:
