CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE
Confirms the applicant holding Italian citizenship.
CERTIFICATE OF CONSULAR REGISTRATION (single or family)
Attests to the compatriot’s current registration in the Consulate’s Register of Residents Abroad, at the current address and a list of the household members, if any. It is NOT the same as an ‘AIRE registration certificate’, which can only be issued by one’s local Council in Italy. For the certificate to reflect to the compatriot’s current situation, it is necessary to make sure one’s AIRE position is updated (registration of births, marriages, divorces, current home address).
CIVIL STATUS CERTIFICATE
Confirms the compatriot’s marital status: single, unmarried, divorced, widow/er. For the certificate to match the compatriot’s current status, please make sure that one’s AIRE position is updated, with registration of birth/marriage/divorce certificates and current home address.
REGISTRY CONCORDANCE (SAME PERSON)
Certifies a person’s identity in the event of changes in first name and/or last name. Typically, this is the case a women who under UK law have changed their surname as a result of marriage. To apply, it is first necessary to have one’s British marriage registered with Italy’s relevant local Council (CIVIL STATUS). At that point, one can apply for the certificate as described above, enclosing:
- copy of Italian passport
- copy of photo ID bearing the surname by which the woman is known in the UK
- proof of residence (utility bill or bank statement)
- self-certification (FORM) with the names requested on the certificate.
