Pursuant to law no. 735 of July 10, 1960, Italian citizens can request the recognition in Italy of healthcare service provided abroad for the purpose of participating in public competitions and as an evaluation credential. Recognition is granted through a decree issued by the Ministry of Health or the Regions. You can verify the competent authority for your specific case on the Ministry of Health’s website.
For those who have worked within the British healthcare system in the jurisdiction of the Consulate in Manchester , you can request our offices the endorsing (which consists of a “visto per conferma,” NOT recognition) of the relevant documentation.
To obtain this endorsement, the following documentation is required:
– A copy of a valid identification document (Italian passport or identity card).
– A copy of the employment certification (see content below).
– A translation into Italian (performed by a professional translator).
– A special delivery envelope (A4 size) pre-addressed with the desired address for receiving the endorsed documentation.

Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be processed.
Once the application is processed, the user will receive instructions via email at the address provided in the form to make the relevant consular payments (authentication of the translation into Italian – Article 72 A per page + endorsement – Article 66 N for each employment certification, see consular fees in the link abovementioned) via bank transfer. Endorsement cannot be carried out without the payment of consular fees.
ATTENTION. Before submitting the endorsement request, carefully verify that the employment certification contains ALL the following elements:
– Name and surname of the applicant.
– Position.
– Reference salary range.
– Salary.
– Period for which the service was provided (if the service is ongoing, the date of the certification marks the end of the recognized period).
– Department (in the case of service in different departments simultaneously, specify the main tasks performed).
– Type of contract (part-time or full-time).
– Email address of the Human Resources department of the organization or institution where the service was provided.
– Legal nature of the organization or institution.
IMPORTANT. It is necessary to specify the legal nature of the organization or institution under whose jurisdiction the service was provided, whether it is a “public body,” a “public-interest institution,” or a ” private non-profit institution” accredited with the British National Health Service (NHS). This explicit indication must be included as the last paragraph in the service certificate issued by the organization/institution (example: It is also declared that the (name of the Institution/establishment) is a public body (or “public-interest institution” or a “private non-profit institution”) that is part or is accredited with the National Health Service). The certification must be signed by an administrative figure from the organization, indicating the role (e.g., Finance Director, Director of HR, or Director of Workforce).
