Recognition of Teaching Service in British Curricular Schools

Teachers who have taught within the jurisdiction of the Consulate of Italy in Manchester can request a certification from the Consulate to confirm the service performed. This certification exclusively applies to periods of teaching in British curricular schools.

 

To issue such certification, the following documents are required in addition to the duly completed and signed Application Form and a copy of a valid ID:

  1. Original Service Certificate issued by the school(s), stating:
    • The legal status of the educational institution;
    • Accreditation by the Department for Education;
    • The title of the teaching position or chair and the subject matter taught;
    • The curricular school teaching provided by the school;
    • The level of schooling (nursery, primary, lower secondary, upper secondary, etc.).
  2. Translation of the service certificate(s) (which can be done by the applicants themselves or by third parties) that will be declared compliant by this office.
  3. A pre-addressed and pre-stamped envelope (A4 size) for sending the certification.

 

The cost for consular certification corresponds to Article 66n (consular certification) and 72a (translation compliance, per page) of the Consular Fees – Consulate of Italy in Manchester.

Once the application has been reviewed, banking instructions for the required consular fees will be provided by email. After payment is received, the Consulate will issue the certification and send it to the address provided by the applicant.
