OPENING OF THE CONSULATE IN MANCHESTER

 

The Consulate of Italy in Manchester will be open to the public on 18 July 2022. It will be competent for providing consular services in the North of England. The jurisdiction will comprise the counties of Cheshire, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Durham, East Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Merseyside, North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Shropshire, South Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Tyne and Wear, West Midlands, West Yorkshire and the Isle of Man (see map below). Starting from 18 July, citizens resident in this area will be able to contact the new Consulate for their consular needs.

 

As of 30 May 2022, it will be possible for citizens resident in the future Manchester jurisdiction to make appointments at in Manchester, according to the procedures that will be communicated on this website. Those who have already booked an appointment at the Consulate General in London for a day before 18 July will have to present themselves as scheduled at the Consulate General in London. Appointments fixed for a later date will be transferred to the Consulate in Manchester, which will contact those interested for further details.

 

In order to avoid any disservice to the applicants, it will not be possible to forward postal applications of any kind (e.g. passports for children under 12, declarations of value, driver’s license renewals, and repatriation certificates) to the Consulate in Manchester before the opening. Applications received at the Consulate General in London by 29 May will be processed according to the procedures currently in force, those received later will be returned to the sender.

 

Finally, we inform you that as of 18 July the honorary consular offices in Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne will fall under the jurisdiction of the Consulate in Manchester. In order to avoid disservice, they will operate at reduced capacity until the opening of the Manchester Consulate.

 

In any case, until 18 July the Consulate General in London will remain responsible for consular services of proven urgency in favor of Italian citizens resident in the newly established consular district.
