Please note: we only accept <em>paper-based<\/em> apostilles;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Translated into Italian <\/strong>(check here for <a href=\"https:\/\/consmanchester.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/altri-servizi\/albo-consolare\/professionisti-patronati-e-associazioni\/\">professionals<\/a>). The Consulate cannot carry out translations. We only certify the conformity of translations attached to consular applications (e.g. citizenship applications or registration of civil records).\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The apostille shall not be translated.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please note: translations that are not consistent with the originals will not be accepted and the application will be returned to the applicant.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n<details style=\"border: 2px solid #0066CC; padding: 8px; margin-bottom: 20px;\">\n<summary style=\"background-color: #0066cc; color: white; padding: 10px; cursor: pointer; font-weight: bold;\">Documents issued by other Countries&#8217; authorities<\/summary>\n<div style=\"padding: 10px; background-color: #f9f9f9;\">\n<p>If the document was issued in a state other than the United Kingdom, please refer to the <strong>legalisation procedures<\/strong> indicated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/mae\/it\/ministero\/laretediplomatica\">Italian consular office where the document was issued<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Many Countries (<a href=\"https:\/\/prefettura.interno.gov.it\/sites\/default\/files\/32\/2024-09\/convenzione-aja_stato-applicazione.pdf\">click here for a list<\/a>) have ratified the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, which makes it possible to avoid legalisation. If the document comes from one of these States, you must <strong>request an <em>apostille<\/em> stamp<\/strong> directly from the domestic authorities of the State that issued the document.<\/p>\n<p>In both cases, the documents must be professionally translated into Italian:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the document is<strong> in English<\/strong>, only a translation is needed. There is no need to have the translation certified or sworn: we will certify the conformity of translations attached to consular applications (e.g. citizenship applications or registration of civil records). <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please note: translations that are not consistent with the originals will not be accepted and the application will be returned to the applicant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>If the document is <strong>not in English<\/strong>, the translation and its conformity certification <em>(dichiarazione di conformit\u00e0<\/em>) must be carried out according to the procedures indicated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/mae\/it\/ministero\/laretediplomatica\">Italian consular office where the document was issued<\/a>. <strong>Alternatively, the translation may be sworn (<em>asseverata<\/em>) in Italy<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The apostille shall not be translated.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"To be valid before the Italian authorities, documents (deeds, certificates, orders, etc.) issued by foreign authorities must be legalised or apostilled and translated into Italian\u00a0according to the following instructions.
