{"id":3455,"date":"2024-02-14T14:28:11","date_gmt":"2024-02-14T14:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmanchester.esteri.it\/?page_id=3455"},"modified":"2025-12-03T14:01:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T14:01:08","slug":"second-level-academic-qualifications-masters-degrees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consmanchester.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/declaration-of-value-on-site\/second-level-academic-qualifications-masters-degrees\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Level Academic Degrees (Master\u2019s Degrees)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Level Academic Degrees (Master Degree):<\/strong>\u00a0Master\u2019s Degrees \/ Integrated Master\u2019s Degrees \/ Postgraduate Diplomas \/ Postgraduate Certificates.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Check if your university or college can award a degree on this link:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/check-university-award-degree\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/check-university-award-degree<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All applicants must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consmanchester.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/albo-consolare\/modulistica\/\"><strong>application form<\/strong><\/a>duly completed and signed;<\/li>\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>copy of a valid identity document<\/strong>(passport or national identity card);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Verified and certified\u00a0copy<\/strong>of the original Degree Certificate\u00a0<strong>legalised<\/strong>\u00a0by means of an Apostille through the Foreign, Development and Commonwealth Office.\u00a0<strong>The verification and certification must be carried out only by a \u201cNotary Public\u201d <\/strong>(see\u00a0<strong>note<\/strong>\u00a0below);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Translation<\/strong>of the \u201cdegree certificate\u201d carried out by the applicant or by a third party (see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consmanchester.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/albo-consolare\/professionisti-patronati-e-associazioni\/traduttori-e-interpreti-translators-and-interpreters\/\">list of translators<\/a>\u00a0available from the website of this Consulate).<br \/>\nIn the email that this office will send from\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:manchester.edu@esteri.it\">edu@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0with the bank transfer instructions and the exact fees to pay we may request the translation of the \u201cdegree certificate\u201d in Word format should corrections need to be made.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Original<\/strong>Diploma Supplement (DS) or\u00a0<strong>Original<\/strong>\u00a0Transcript or a\u00a0<strong>verified and certified copy legalised<\/strong>\u00a0by means of the Foreign, Development and Commonwealth Office Apostille.<br \/>\nThe above documents must include: name, surname, date of birth, course duration, mode of attendance (full or part time), number of Academic Credits awarded and if the course of study included a year abroad or an internship (please specify which university or company).<br \/>\nIf the DS or Transcript does not contain all the required information, please request an additional official letter from the University to be presented in original together with the above documentation.<\/li>\n<li>A plain A4 self-addressed envelope (unpadded) for the return of the DV.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We confirm that we will return any original documents (letters or any other original document) and attach the DV is the verified and certified copy legalised by means of the FCDO Apostille of your degree and the certified translation of the degree \u201cas a bound set\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0step<\/u><\/p>\n<p>A certified and verified copy of the original document (Degree \/ A-level Certificates \/ Diploma Supplement \/ Letter from the University etc.) can only be obtained exclusively through a UK-based \u201cNotary Public\u201d. The \u201cNotary Public\u201d can act as a verifying authority and confirm the validity of UK educational or professional documents. Verification is the process of ensuring the original documents are genuine by checking with the awarding institutions (universities \/ colleges \/ schools \/ exam boards). An example of a notary statement is:\u00a0<em>\u201cI certify that the qualification is genuine and authentic and I have carried out the verification with the awarding body\/Institution\/University\u201d.\u00a0<\/em>The above notary statement can be in English or in Italian.<\/p>\n<p><u>2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0step<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Once the verified and certified copy of the original document has been obtained, it must be sent to the \u201cLegalisation Office\u201d of the Foreign, Commonwealth &amp; Development Office (FCDO) to be legalised by means of an apostille,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-document-legalised\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-document-legalised<\/a>. Legalisation is the official confirmation that a signature, seal or stamp on a public document is genuine. The \u201cLegalisation Office\u201d of the FCDO is the only authority that issues apostille stamps for holders of UK degrees\/certificates. However, the Notary can assist the interested party in obtaining the apostille and can also send the documents to be legalised to the FCDO \u201cLegalisation Office\u201d on your behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the above services (<u>verified and certified copy<\/u>\u00a0of the original degree\/qualification\/letter and\u00a0<u>the legalisation<\/u>) are offered by third parties that operate independently of this Consulate.
