In September 2022 Citibank started posting proof of life forms to retirees residing in the United Kingdom. Such documents need to be returned to the bank by January 12, 2023. If a life certificate is not produced, payment of the February 2023 instalment will be made in cash at Western Union Agencies. If personal collection is not made or the proof of life certificate is not produced by February 19, 2023, payment of the pension will be suspended starting from the March 2023 instalment.
The form must be countersigned by an "approved witness" and returned to Citibank NA following the instructions included in the bank's letter. The list of acceptable witnesses can be found HERE.
From October 5th, pensioners residing in the Manchester district may request an endorsement of a Proof of Life certificate from this Consulate, which they can visit without any appointment: The Chancery, 2nd floor, 58 Spring Gardens, Manchester M2 1EW from 11 to 1, Monday through Friday. Said pensioners need to exhibit the form received from CitiBank, signed by themselves and filled with their data, plus a copy of a valid ID. Once verified, the certificate will be endorsed and returned to the applicant straight away.
