Introduction of remains or ashes into Italy
Relatives of a deceased person who wish to bring the body or ashes to Italy can write an email to manchester.sociale@esteri.it , with the subject "[SURNAME] [NAME] - INTRODUCTION SALMA [OR ASHES]. The Consulate will provide the necessary information on the documentation to be submitted and the steps to be taken.

It should be noted that the costs of transport and the introduction of the remains or ashes in Italy are borne by family members. It should be noted, however, that several local authorities, especially regional, provide funds for the reimbursement of the costs of repatriation of the bodies of fellow countrymen who died abroad. Interested parties are therefore invited to check this availability directly with their local authorities.
